TRAVEL PAPERLESS

On a recent THALYS train from Paris to Amsterdam, FANTASTIC MAN’s Associate Editor, Mr. MATTHEW STEWART, was excited to learn that the conductor could scan the ticket’s QR-code right off a laptop screen or smart phone. Travellers who wish to go sans-papier are advised to board with a fully-charged battery since there aren’t always power outlets in the otherwise quite comfortable “Comfort 2″ class.

I think this is so great. But whenever I do it, they always insist on printing the boarding card out for me as well, in case the scanner at the gate doesn’t work! So no paper saved at all. That’s just Air Canada though.
