Worthy of repeated viewings is the trailer for the debut feature film by Mr. TOM FORD. The movie, which recently received a prolonged ovation at the Venice Film Festival, is called A SINGLE MAN and a preview of it can currently be viewed on internet portals such as YOUTUBE. From the trailer we can glean that the movie will be taut, tense and remarkably framed: Mr. FORD seems particularly fond of a close-up headshot. There is much talk already of the lead actor, Mr. COLIN FIRTH, being a strong contender for an ACADEMY AWARD. How delightful it would be if Mr. FORD could win one too.
