The beauty of a good scented candle is the effect it has on a room even when unlit. The above candle is ROI SOLEIL by CIRE TRUDON, and its fragrance is meant to evoke the woodwork of Versailles. Whatever. More important is that, after its initial lighting, the scent carries from the wax even when the wick is not aflame.

I think that there are many better scents than the ‘woodwork of Versailles’ (why would anyone want that?) but the candle looks great!
Cire Trudon.:
Thanks a lot for this post !
Dear Worldmanabouttown, Cire Trudon used to manufacture candles for Louis XIV, hence the scent of the “woodwork of Versailles”.

This is the most fascinating scent. Who did try once, will never love an other one.

I have to get to Barney’s; if only for the opportunity to say the word bougie. Merci!
