A tip for those in Amsterdam is a visit to the finally re-opened Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The ten-year-long renovation has seen a bathtub-like extension to the reputable contemporary art museum and a controversial, but fabulous, new logo. This past weekend we enjoyed a preview of the most recent installation from American dancer and performance artist ANDROS ZINS-BROWNE, pictured above. The installation, titled ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, made comment on fluctuating global climate, subjecting viewers to a continuously changing mirrored labyrinth filled with varying scents, sounds, lights, a number of children wearing yellow rain slickers and the occasional spray of mist. The result was indeed mystifying. The installation’s official debut will take place on 23 and 24 November at De Singel in Antwerp, Belgium.
