Last year’s departure of designer CARLO BRANDELLI from the house of KILGOUR was one sad loss for menswear. But the designer recently reappeared in public, this time as a sculptor. RCM Galerie in Paris, France, is currently showing Mr. BRANDELLI’s monolithic pieces. “I don’t think they’re that far from fashion; they’re sharply cut 3-dimensional pieces,” said CARLO (now with full beard) at the vernissage last week. He also mentioned that they felt “quite religious without being religious”. Last but not least, it should be noted that they’re not unlike playful building blocks for grown-ups, as the travertine-and-gold blocks can be arranged to suit one’s own taste and whim. On display until this Saturday, July 10.
