To herald DIOR HOMME’s Autumn & Winter 2013 fashions, Fantastic Man has produced ROTATION: a dazzling compendium of modern motion in weekly Friday instalments.
Granted, dancer JAI HICKLING indulges in a few flirtatious brushes with the floor during WORK HARD, CHANGE HISTORY – the fourth dance film in the Fantastic Man x Dior Homme series – but he remains upright for the most part. That’s because JAI is something of a master of what is known in B-boy parlance as “TOPROCK”, a sequence of steps performed from a standing position. JAI maintains a remarkable composure and cleanliness of form throughout his fast-changing display. Particularly thrilling is the moment at which he appears to collapse his very legs down into a sort of makeshift box – it is formed, of course, by his own arms!
Be sure to return for next Friday’s fifth and final ROTATION instalment, in which a remarkably tall dancer demonstrates an old-school dance move inspired by the Egyptian pharaoh TUTANKHAMUN.
