At this very moment, the next issue of FANTASTIC MAN is being printed; a painstaking process that receives as much care and attention as the creation of the magazine itself. It is with this love of print in mind that the online realm of FANTASTIC MAN will celebrate other printed titles from around the world that similarly commit themselves to exploring the possibilities of the printed page.
Often new issues of VANITY FAIR are worth looking out for, and the shock news that for once the American monthly magazine was not going to feature a dead celebrity on the cover surely added to the excitement. But now that the September 2010 issue has reached the cultural outpost that is The Netherlands, readers must be informed that the cover story on Ms. LADY GAGA isn’t great. Well, unless one fancies the look of swearing on paper and more blah about snorting coke from a family bible and buying ROLLS-ROYCES. The popular pop star surely could have done with a more endearing piece. Perhaps the story starting on page 302 of the same issue, on deceased glamour designer Mr. OLEG CASSINI, could be more interesting – at least it comprises the classic VANITY FAIR elements of death, a secret marriage, feud in the family, and of course some sort of link to the KENNEDY clan.
By the way, Mr. FELIX JACKSON pointed us to this entertaining weblog that features the most stylish spreads in magazines. Have a look.

Lauren:
I’m really glad you guys posted this. First, I’m EXCITED to see the new issue of Fantastic Man. Second, I was disappointed with the September issue of Vanity Fair as well. I love the magazine and will never give up reading it, but I don’t think Gaga is interesting and… James Franco wrote an article. In Vanity Fair! Anyhow, I would be honored if you checked out our blog – http://www.mymag.com/blog/ – as we really hope to bring exciting magazine content to people who love print.
World Man About Town:
I subscribe to VF and have received this issue but have not read the Gaga story yet as I am piling up September issues for my forthcoming beach holiday. However, this magazine remains as one of the best edited ones out there. Together with Fantastic Man, of course! :-)
Charles:
Hahahaha. You have captured the VF formula perfectly!

I’m really into reading what Christopher Hitchens has got to say, that man always cracks me up.
