POLO

Designer SCOTT STERNBERG from BAND OF OUTSIDERS in Los Angeles, California, has made a range of very adorable, summery polo shirts, one of which is shown above. The label of the garment reads: “This is not a polo shirt”. This, of course, needs explanation, which SCOTT happily provided via e-mail. So why is it “not” a polo shirt if it looks like a polo shirt? SCOTT: “Well, I don’t expect anyone to be playing a funny game with a horse and mallet while wearing it.” Voilà, that’s the answer.

  1. Very nice. Farah, Penguin and Marc Jacobs have also done nice polos for this summer.

I am a fan of the Marc Jacobs polos.. I love band of outsiders and will be looking for this one.. looks nice and thin.

  3. My favorite Polo’s in terms of fit are the Fred Perry x Raf Simmons ones, the darts help slim them down and the lack of contrast trims is very welcome.

The ‘this is not a polo shirt’ range is very good though, I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen so far.

Even thought I like more alternative creative looks .. a Polo t-shirt is a classic and everybody should have one in the wardrobe…this one is cute
