The incredible British designer PETER SAVILLE designed a series of polo shirts for LACOSTE that was unveiled last night in Paris. Well, he didn’t redesign the shirt – he played with the crocodile logo, and turned it into anything from a sewing machine gone wild to a simple green stripe. “Amazing to see a logo so iconic, you can do anything with it and it still looks like LACOSTE,” said the ever charming Mr. SAVILLE. He made 80 varieties of the logo (LACOSTE is 80 years old) and there’s only one shirt of each, worldwide. “It’s truly limited edition,” said SAVILLE, “and I mean that literally, and not in the way that you can get ‘limited edition’ ice cream in London these days.” Mr. SAVILLE himself doesn’t wear polo shirts, as avid readers of FANTASTIC MAN might know that he always wears polo neck, or roll neck, jumpers.
