The very hotly anticipated re-opening of Amsterdam’s RIJKSMUSEUM has already seen publicity worldwide. But of course, to see is to believe, so as a registered ‘friend’ of Holland’s classic art museum we attended last Sunday’s preview (the official opening is this coming Saturday). One word: amazing! The glorious building! That delirious feeling of finally getting to see the RIJKSMUSEUM’s treasures again! Above are just a few of the thousands of highlights: Holland’s own Mona Lisa-like attraction, the continuously guarded ‘Night Watch’ by Mr. REMBRANDT VAN RIJN, from 1642, RICHARD WRIGHT’s 47,000 hand painted stars on a ceiling and JAN ASSELIJN’s ‘The Threatened Swan’.
