Part of the sneaker holy grail, until very recently, was the knitted sneaker. Even Italian knit masters, MISSONI, who have been showing some very lusty knitted sneakers in their runway presentations, seem unable to put them into production. But with a bit of hi-tech weaving technology and a single fused yarn, ADIDAS has done the trick. The result looks like a pixelated version of one of the German brand’s running classics. This particular model seen above, called ‘adiZero Primeknit’, is one of 2,012 pairs that will be sold in London during the 2012 Olympics for the price of 212 GBP – a nicely manic use of the number. Those who find themselves outside of London will unfortunately have to wait for a possible general release of the shoe.

I am not sure if it’s the thick ankle of the model but they look quite rubbish!
I like more the idea than the actual thing!
