Such a nice surprise at the recent menswear presentations in London, Milan and Paris: the return of lots of gold, silver and other shiny finishes on otherwise rather basic garments. One example, seen here, is an amazing gold leather jacket by LOUIS W. for A.P.C. The LOUIS W. line is a new sub-label designed by one of A.P.C.’s designers, Mr. LOUIS WONG, and consists of short blouson and bomber jackets that are just about perfect. They’ll be pricier than the average A.P.C. item, but so worth it. The first shipment of LOUIS W. items is expected in stores this October. The gold jacket won’t be available until early 2013 – something to look forward to! (On a different note: a very interesting and modern example of using peroxide.)

Indeed the use of the color gold for a jacket of this simplistic cut, brings a kind of artistic luxour the modern man IS waiting to wear.
