Today’s tip is the second issue of Garmento, the biannual fashion zine by JEREMY LEWIS dedicated to the not so distant fashion past. This issue examines the “future” by those who idealised it, which includes designers such as PIERRE CARDIN and ISSEY MIYAKE, a conversation with the future incarnate model PEGGY MOFFIT, as well as some fabulous fashions worn on the set of STAR TREK. Our favourite piece is an obsessive interview with the appropriately named Scottish knitwear designer TOM SCOTT, who lives and works in New York City. SCOTT has knitted since the age of three or four – he can’t remember – and produces unisex knits that are progressively familiar, especially on the male form.
