Excitement at LOUIS VUITTON, yesterday afternoon in Paris, where new menswear designer KIM JONES showed his debut collection for the house. Amazing amazingness! The seeming simplicity of the garments (a T-shirt, a collarless striped shirt, a sports jacket, a parka, a sandal boot) is what made this VUITTON collection so fabulously chic. (Also, let’s hope the white socks with the alternative “blocky” VUITTON logo on the ankle make it into the stores soon.)

Vern:
Can the collection be viewed anywhere online?
Charles:
Nice enough, but not particularly original. I suppose that’s not particularly a Vuitton thing. Is the rolled-up/too short trousers thing considered fashionable again (thought the Thom Browne idea had run its course)?
Jacques:
Excitement? this is terrible… some 12 year old childish suits with shorts, some white tee-shirt and socks? Thick sporty sandals straight out of the REI catalog in exotic leathers ? really……Those couple of photos have nothing to do with the Original French taste making of Louis Vuitton. Completely outdated and irrelevant runway.
Seems what Louis Vuitton needs is what Hermes has now….. the talent of Christophe Lemaire.
