One of the greatest benefits of summer is that people tend to wear less clothing, and show more skin. And sometimes the two come together perfectly, such as in a series of fashion images in the new issue of FANTASTIC MAN, an outtake of which is shown above. A model by the name of JAMES WELLS reclines on a nudist beach wearing a FRED PERRY polo shirt and trousers by the house of TILLMANN LAUTERBACH. Photography by BENJAMIN ALEXANDER HUSEBY, with styling by JODIE BARNES.

World Man About Town:
I am not a fan of nude shades for men but I saw the photo shoot in the magazine and it is excellent! I particularly loved the irony of playing with the ideas of ‘nude’ and ‘nudism’, nudists occupying the very naked landscape, and the saturation used in the photos.
I actually wrote about nude tones for men a few months ago in my blog at http://worldmanabouttown.wordpress.com/2010/01/19/we%E2%80%99d-rather-go-naked-than-wear-nude/
Lineage of Influence:
^ I’m not a fan of nude tones either which is probably down to liking colours to be strong (I don’t like really faded colours on clothes for that matter). I think you’ve got to be careful that you balance these clothes to your skin tone (in that you make sure they’re far enough away to give definition) otherwise you’re going to be very washed out.
It’s a trend best left to the girls me thinks. I think I’ll stick to blue.
