Last Friday, the award for Best Art Direction at the 4th ASVOF Film Festival in Paris, France, went to artists LERNERT & SANDER for the series of films they shot especially for FANTASTIC MAN. The five mesmerising films show a professional ice skater in the latest winter collections, filmed in extreme hi resolution, and played in supreme slow motion. Seen above is the assured favourite, the open upright spin performed by THOMAS NAYLOR in HERMÈS. (The rest may may be conveniently viewed on our Vimeo page.) Over the course of one minute the viewer is actually enjoying exactly one second of a spin. It’s quite incredibly amazing, yes, and thus congratulations to Mr. LERNERT ENGELBERTS and Mr. SANDER PLUG, who hail from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, are well deserved. It’s actually worth checking out some more of their films on the artists’ web site. And for now: hurray!
