A whole week of black and whiteness continues with this ceramic miniature of the Modernist Shalom Meir Tower in Tel Aviv by Tel Aviv-based ceramicist JOHNATHAN HOPP for his studio, TYPICAL LOCAL. We snapped up this treat at PAUL SMITH’s now being renovated objects and curiosities shop located at 9 Albermarle Street in London. The Shalom Meir Tower was completed in 1965, and was the first skyscraper built in Israel. For those readers in search of further Modernist rapture, a trip to Tel Aviv itself is recommended. The city is home to over 4,000 Bauhaus and International style buildings, collectively referred to as the White City.
