What we like about the debut issue of ‘Showroom’, the magazine by men’s vintage shop THE VINTAGE SHOWROOM, located in Earlham Street in London’s Covent Garden, is its strictness, especially when it comes to the fashions. Entirely photographed by NIC SHONFELD, in black and white of course, the garments have been sourced from the shop’s desirable archive. “The best thing about THE VINTAGE SHOWROOM is that the clothing is already super well edited,” says Mr. JODIE BARNES, FANTASTIC MAN’s Fashion Director, who buys and borrows there very often. “They have a great selection of Americana Sportswear which sits well against more British quirkiness and French Workwear. It’s a really good all rounder that has vintage clothing you can actually wear.” The magazine contains 160 pages, costs £12 GBP and can be purchased at THE VINTAGE SHOWROOM, of course, or online. No word of what the regularity of the publication will be, but hey, it’s about timeless vintage, so no need for strict biannualness or nerve-wrecking prospected on-sale dates.
