These browline glasses by THOM BROWNE recall the 1950s and 1960s, no surprise as they’re Mr. BROWNE’s favoured decades and also when the original style was at the height of its popularity. (The browline frame was first designed by the renowned American eyeglass manufacturer SHURON in 1947.) This pair, however, is rendered in steel and offers a welcome alternative in the current thick-plastic-frame climate. They are suited for those with oval, oblong or round faces as rectangular frames miraculously soften the curves of oval faces, add width to an oblong face, and make round faces appear longer and thinner.
