Visitors to the northern Dutch city of Groningen might be interested to know that designers Mr. BERNHARD WILLHELM and Ms. JUTTA KRAUSS are currently being fêted with a retrospective exhibition at the spectacular Groninger Museum that runs until April 11, 2010. Most striking in the menswear sections of the exhibition is the duo’s fascination for pleasantly skimpy lycra sportswear, and an emphasis on high, exuberant socks. “Of course, socks,” said Mr. WILLHELM at last weekend’s opening reception. “It’s the first thing that one puts on in the morning.” Of further special note are some hilariously attractive mannequins that were specially made for the show.
