What does it take to get a 275-year-old Florentine porcelain house to issue a plate with googly eyes? Mr. GILES DEACON, apparently. Mr. DEACON created these hilarious giveaways with manufacturer RICHARD GINORI 1735 for his recent pre-collection show at Pitti W in Florence, Italy. They are limited edition, so head to eBay now.

must have theses!!
Sample question from fashion pub quiz currently running on Monday nights in East London: “Which of these brands has Giles Deacon NOT collaborated with: Sky, Smythson, Swarovski, Mulberry, Carphone Warehouse, Samsonite, Converse, Isklar water, New Look, Linda Farrow or Cadbury’s?”
Ouch!
Great stuff.
Actually it is really perfect for the breakfast time!
The fashion pub quiz forgot to mention Fay, another of Giles’ collaborators. They probably forgot some more…
Think the plate would look better without the googly eyes, personally!
its the googly eyes the point oliver??
I tried, I looked once, looked again, tried to get the googly eyes to resemble fried eggs in my mind, used irony to interpret the design, and nothing. This doesn’t do anything for me and it borders on lazy earthenware design…
