A WEEK OF MUSIC: BOWIE FOR YOUNG PARENTS

In her never ending quest for alternatives to naff entertainment for her 2-year-old son, Mrs. MO VELD from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, recently stumbled upon the DVD of a 1984 version of THE SNOWMAN. Much to her excitement, the Oscar-winning animated rendering of RAYMOND BRIGGS’ adorable fairy tale contains an introduction by an incredibly neat looking Mr. DAVID BOWIE, lounging around in a cosy winter jumper and some lusciously pleated trousers. (The intro is a must-see that can be viewed here.) As a result, more than usual, MO will happily agree to watch the film for the umpteenth time at the suggestion of her tot, and looks forward to doing so throughout the winter season.
