There has been protracted debate at the editorial offices of FANTASTIC MAN over whether the shoe that artist Mr. TERENCE KOH designed for CONVERSE is a case of charming clumsiness or marvelous minimalism. The white leather high top, inspired by the classic ‘CHUCK TAYLOR’ model, is such a thorough distillation of the original that it resembles a cartoon drawing. The shaping of the shoe spares it from being overly severe: KOH straightened out the taper of the ‘CHUCK TAYLOR’, making it wider at the top. As a result, the supple leather crumples softly around the ankle for a fit that has a much-needed trace of slouchiness. The verdict is that the shoe is revolutionary in its modesty, and therefore rather beautiful.
The shoe can be found at Opening Ceremony, Dover Street Market, Corso Como 10, Colette, and Wood Wood, and buyers of an altruistic persuasion will be pleased to learn that ten percent of the wholesale price goes to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria which averts more than three thousand deaths every day.

I LOVE these!
Gibron:
I wear a similar pair of low profile Chuck Taylors made out of white leather. Best white shoe ever!

these are super!

I desire a pair VERY much. They sound like an elegant counterattack for the British rain-puddle
Theo:
except of course, jimjam, for the two vent holes just above the sole.
