A MOVING FASHION CAMPAIGN

FIRST SEPTEMBER, TWO THOUSAND AND TEN

Some readers may have already seen the very attractive trailer of fashion house REISS’s new campaign film, as it has been trailering on the company’s website for some time now. Today REISS is releasing the full version of the film, meaning more amazing animal footage and fashion shots in black and white. A special mention should go to the horse that debuts 51 seconds into the film, the gloves, the pointy lapels on the grey suit, and the music.     It’s an excellent film. I saw it in the London flagship store when I went for a preview of the a/w 2010 collection: there are some great pieces and emphasis on cowl necks, elegant tailoring and quality fabrics.

    The animals are beautiful. Bit too much reverse-motion, and the perpetually squinting, smirking, snarling boy (while admittedly beautiful) didn’t do it for me. More to the point, while it was fairly easy to see the women’s clothes, the men’s stuff was barely visible, except in bits.
