The tumult of this season always throws up some strange weather conditions. This past weekend, north-western Europe has been battered by gales, yet the temperature has remained high. To cope with such conditions, a windproof state-of-the-art blazer is a boon, such as this JIL SANDER-esque one by Canadian outdoor manufacturers ARC’TERYX. It comes from their performance line which is called VEILANCE, and its website contains enough sufficiently impenetrable information to convince that it will actually work.

Joe Clark:
Arc’teryx (stress on first syllable, please) is ultimately a Finnish company, having been bought by the Finns after Adidas ran it into the ground. You would simply not believe the original Arc’teryx garments – although, being practical, they were decidedly not FANTASTIC MAN’s style in any respect.

Well, it’s a great concept, uniting these two very different styles. Though it’s being done a lot better.
